My world stopped the day Charlie collapsed.  Our bright, energetic 18 month-old son was now lying lifeless.  Emergency response paramedics administered CPR as they rushed Charlie to the Southern Maine Medical Center then on to The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital.

Once at the children’s hospital, we felt comforted knowing that Charlie was in the best of care.  A specialized team of doctors and nurses performed dozens of tests on little Charlie.  He remained under the watchful care of Dr. Epstein for two years.

The cause for Charlie’s collapse remains unknown.  However, thanks to the emergency paramedics and wonderful medical team at The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital, Charlie enjoys a happy and healthy life as a busy 4 year old.
